Identity programme for Danmarks Borgcenter – translated as The Danish Castle Center

In 2013, Danmarks Borgcenter will open as a combined research center, museum and event park devoted to re-telling the history of castles, kings and the gain and loss of power in medieval Denmark.
Danmarks Borgcenter is situated in the grounds of the ruined medieval Vordingborg Castle. Here, during the middle ages the rule of King Valdemar Atterdag established a Danish center of power.
The resulting logo/visual identity focuses on the center's 3 main themes – castles, kings and power in medieval Denmark. Furthermore the logo's aesthetic refers to the heraldic systems of the Middle Ages – the defense wall from the remaining defense tower of the old castle, the crown of King Valdemar Atterdag, and a goose refers to a well known Danish story involving King Valdemar Atterdag´s persistence and determination during the conflict with the Hanseatic League.
